Poul Henningsen

One of the most influential Danish figures of the 20th century, Poul Henningsen, or ‘PH’, studied as an architect but never actually graduated, later turning his hand to writing. Born in 1894, Henningsen was the son of literary figures and was interested in politics and current affairs. He tried his hand at architecture in the 1920s, during which time he constructed his famous PH Lamp, before immersing himself in his writing career, for which he is best known as a passionate humanist and supporter of left-wing politics.

The glare free luminaire consists of 72 leaves, which shield the light source, redirect and reflect the light onto the underlying leaves resulting in distinct, unique lighting.
